History of Middlebury Bandstand, 2003.

History and photographs of Middlebury's bands and bandstand, including a history of the Town Green where the bandstand is located and of earlier bandstands on the site. The present bandstand was built in 1974-1975 and dedicated to the memory of William Hazlett Upson. A description of the dedication and biographical sketch of Upson are included.

Middlebury, Vt., had been without a town band or bandstand for a number of years when Judge Donald Ferland established a band to perform in the U.S. Bicentennial celebration and the Middlebury Rotary Club, at the urging of Doris Bowker, decided to build a bandstand.
